STEP 1: Be nice
Tata krama dan sopan santun adalah hal penting bagi setiap orang tua. No
need to have special skill for this thing. You just have to say “Hi”
diligently, smile and berani untuk memulai conversation(dengan pemilihan kata
yang sopan). Teen life coach, Tracy Tressider, menjelaskan dengan menunjukkan
you’re a kind and thoughtful person, you’re sure to always be welcome at your
BF’s house.
STEP 2: Wardrobe
Better for you to concern about your dress which
you will wear. Memang benar istilah yang mengatakan “Don’t judge a book by it’s
cover”. Namun first impression para orang tua biasanya
terbentuk melalui penampilan luar seseorang (apalagi kamu adalah pacar dari
anaknya!). So, pilihlah pakaian yang sopan tapi tetap stylish.
STEP 3: (Don’t) make yourself at home
Para orang tua tidak suka orang asing yang
bertindak sesuka hatinya di rumah mereka. For instance, you directly go into
their yard without permission, go to the fridge and eat their food, and
generally act like it’s your house- when it’s not. Remember that you’re just a
guess. But, kamu bisa sahaja bertindak seperti berada di rumah sendiri pada
situasi tertentu. For example, after dinner, you help them clean away the
dining table. This is an absolute must if you want a repeat
invite!
STEP 4: Be a good friend
Tracy Tressidder menjelaskan, kalau berkaitan
dengan hubungan pacaran, parents just want to know that their son has found a
good one. Each parents are very, very, very care
about safety and happiness of their childs. So, to convince your BF’s parents,
you should aim to:
© Bersikap terbuka, jujur dan terpecaya.
© Selalu memberikan dukungan dan perhatian – in the good times and the
bad.
© Menerima pacar kamu apa adanya, understand that you won’t always agree
with each other.
© Selalu memberi saran buat pacar kamu untuk berada dalam jalur yang benar
dengan mematuhi segala peraturan yang telah diterapkan oleh kedua orangtuanya.
STEP 5: Reassess the stich
Masih berasa orangtua pacar kamu belum menyukai
kamu? So, cari tahu alasan dibalik sikap mereka. “Apakah kamu sering berbohong
demi hubungan kalian? Apakah kamu membawa pengaruh buruk?”. If both of you are
not well-matched, then tell this to your boyfriend and his
parents. If you’re not courageous
to speak about this thing to them, try to write a letter. They’ll be impressed that you’re showing maturity.
At the end with your courageous and your honest,
seiring masa berlalu mereka akan sedar betapa bertuahnya anak mereka telah
memiliki kamu. Cheers!!

Tapi bagaimana kalau orangtua kamu yang tidak menyukai pacar kamu??
Our answer is: Tanyakan alasan orang tua kamu. Jangan membantah atau
membela pacar kamu dulu. “Pelajari dan lihat secara objektif apakah ucapan
mereka benar.” Terkadang rasa cinta membuat kita tidak berfikir rasional.
Chances are: Orang tua kamu memiliki alasan benar atas hubungan kamu –
it’s probably a pretty toxic relationship yang harus kamu akhiri. Namun jika
penilaian orang tua kamu salah, go back and tell them kalau kamu menghargai
pendapat mereka,tapi kamu juga menyayangi pacar kamu, so you want them to get
to know him better. Stay calm and act in mature way so that your parents want
